Pure genius, a great way to have fun with type. Craig Oldham created this typeface after overhearing someone say ” that type is indecent!”

Another link I came across CNET spam (a internal CNET mailing list) that was sent out was this blog called “ Garfield minus Garfield” where Garfield is removed from all the comic strips. So Jon Arbuckle (Garfield’s owner) basically speaks to himself creating the illusion of schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and loneliness. check out Garfield minus Garfield and read Garfield like you never read it before.

Here is the blurb for Garfield minus Garfield
Who would have guessed that when you remove Garfield from the Garfield comic strips, the result is an even better comic about schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and the empty desperation of modern life? Friends, meet Jon Arbuckle. Let’s laugh and learn with him on a journey deep into the tortured mind of an isolated young everyman as he fights a losing battle against loneliness in a quiet American suburb.
Ran across another blog called Centripetal Notion which had this amazing artist called Brian Dettmer. His work is Books that are carved out around artwork to create these three-dimensional master piece sculptures. I had to do a project slightly in this direction in Experimental Book Design at my undergrad at SUNY Purchase in NY. I carved out a book and filled it with Blue tinted resin to make it look like a lake, these by far excel what I created. I love the whole concept of taking a work of art (the book) and creating another art form from it.
You can see more work from him at:

When people ask me what is a twitter?, the answer never comes out 100% clear. This video sums up twitter in 2minutes and 25 seconds. The people at Common Craft created the clever video and you can see more video explanations at http://commoncraft.com/show
And you can follow me on Twitter at twitter.com/alexdesignz
Someone at my work set this through our misc. email list called “spam”. This is great, I was into science growing up. I would have loved it then and have to try it now. I haven’t downloaded it but I will.

Phun is a playground for the creative mind where toys can be easily created.
Phun was created as a MSc project by Emil Ernerfeldt for supervisor Kenneth Bodin, HPC2N/VRlab, Umeå University, Sweden.
This is great, I just love how anything was possible back in the day. I found this on this blog called The City Desk, you can check them out at http://thecitydesk.net/
Working at CNET, I passed this tip along to CNET TV and was used in a “Insider Secrets” video. The great part at the end I got a shout out by Tom Merritt. Thanks…

Let me start by saying Thai food never crossed my mind in NY, when I moved to San Francisco and I was working in Berkeley I tried Thai food for the first time. My boss then treated us to lunch every so often and it was Thai. I learned to enjoy Thai. It is fresh and light compared to the MSG greasy filled Chinese food which I still love in NY. So I was working in Marin and My co-worker Andrew says you gotta try the Thai in North Gate Mall. I was like yeah okay mall food, he insisted so we went to lunch and let me tell you for $7 bucks i got my self a meal I would repeat at least once a month. I order white rice and (for $7 you get 2 or 3 items)Med spice curry chicken, mild green beens, and very spicy basil beef. But this time I got spring rolls (which I loved). I love Thai now a days and you can’t beat a 7 buck meal that is just as good as a top notch Thai place.

These are short films made on non-professional devices such as one-time use video cameras, cell phones, point and shoot cameras, webcams, and other inexpensive, readily available video capture devices. It reminds me of the Diana/Holga camera & the Fisher Price PXL2000 aka Pixelvision video camera concept, which I love. This definitely sparked a new interest in art for me and will be creating some shorts.
